COVID-19 Safety Measures

To our Dental Families,
As several counties in California are placed on the new stay-at-home orders by Governor Newsom on December 3, 2020, we wanted to let you know dental offices are approved by the CDC and CDA (California Dental Association) that continued dental care is essentially needed, and are able to remain OPEN to care for the oral health needs of our community. First, please be assured that the health and safety of all our patients and staff is our top priority. Given that the COVID-19 virus event is ever-changing, each week may change. We will be taking a week-by-week approach to what we are able to provide to our patients. That said, if we have not contacted you to reschedule an existing appointment, that means that we are planning to see you as scheduled. Regular dental visits are important because treatment, as well as prevention of dental diseases, helps keep our immune system strong and our bodies healthy. While we have always followed stringent infection control at Robert Rohmer DDS Inc., we continue to implement the additional measures that we ask our patients to observe:

Please call our office to reschedule if you have any COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms (a fever 100.4 and above, chills, cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, new loss of taste or smell, body aches, headache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), or have been in close contact with someone diagnosed or possible exposure with COVID-19.

We are limiting the number of people in our dental office and waiting area. Only patients with scheduled appointments will be allowed in the operatory rooms, waiting room and common areas.

For parents or guardians of minors: only one (1) parent or adult may enter the office with one or more minor patients. We also are unable to have parents wait with their child in the operatory rooms during treatment. This is to minimize infection risk by socially distancing and minimizing the number of people coming in the back. Please do not bring siblings, friends, or relatives if they do not have an appointment.

When you arrive at our parking lot, please wait in your car and call us upon your arrival. We will then ask you the COVID-19 evaluation questionaire, and if cleared, you will be directed to come enter the front door of our office. If you do not have a cell phone, please knock on the front door, and one of our staff members will come to the door to assist you.

Please wear your mask at all times, covering both your nose and mouth, while inside the dental office. Our dental staff will then advise you when to remove your mask before treatment begins. Once treatment and/or exam is complete, please place your mask back on before leaving the operatory room. Our staff will also kindly remind you to place your mask back on, in case you forget.

We will also be providing hand sanitizer for your hands upon entrance, and checking your temperature. A 1-minute mouthwash rinse will be given before we begin any treatment. Before you exit the dental office, please wash your hands or hand sanitize.

Our office has continued to provide additional safety measures, which includes having HEPA air purifiers in all operatory rooms, promoting social distancing, having staff wearing masks at all times and wearing proper personal protective equipment, handwashing and hand sanitizing before and after all patient care, and cleaning all work area surfaces before and after patient care.

We recognize that this is a time filled with uncertainties for everyone and we want to assure you of our commitment to provide you with the services you depend on. We will keep you updated throughout this dynamic situation, and we look forward to continue to creating beautiful, healthy smiles.

Please remember, gum disease and oral infections compromise your immune system, so we need to help keep your mouth healthy in order to keep your body strong to fight against the COVID-19 virus as well as the flu! Stay healthy, social distance, wash or sanitize your hands, take your daily vitamin C, and continue to see us for your regular dental visits!

Smile with Confidence and Stay Healthy,
Robert Rohmer DDS and our Dental Team
